Is it 21 or Bust?
Today, is July 11 or 7/11 and if I believed in luck of the numbers I would be buying lottery tickets. It is not to say that I have never bought a lottery ticket, I have, but mostly when I am in the mood to donate to the State Poor Tax and have money to blow.
But on 7/7/07 things where wild, people rushing to get married or to make that lucky bet and I was out of town getting ready for a mini-family reunion. One stop at the Gas Station to fill the gas tank before going to my Aunt's house. I jump back into the car and start driving through my hometown towards the old highway.
My wife saids, "where is there a liquor store?"
I said, "Why?"
She saids, "Buy a lotto ticket?"
After a few more words I pull into a parking slot at a 7/11 Store and she hands me six dollars.
"Add a dollar to that and get seven lotto numbers."
The numbers are flying, wow 7/7/07 at 7/11 to get seven lotto numbers; I am nuts?
I start thinking is 7/7/07 lucky because of the sevens or because 7+7+07=21?
But wait, what about Y2K?
It is 7/7/2007 or 7+7+2+7=23 so, "Is it 21 or bust?"
We did not win. But one thing came out of all the sevens, it got me thinking about file permissions since web folders are chmod to 777 and in the Greymatter Forums it is one of the most asked questions.
In the coming days I will cover the why, how, and what of file permissions trying to keep it basic, but useful.
